What's the difference between social media influencers and real leaders?
Noncasting is a microcast that unapologetically weighs in on relevant and disputatious cultural topics that are currently spiraling within our social tapestry. Writer and podcast producer, Nathan Tower weaves in and out of personal stories, opinionated diatribes and sometimes contextually relevant insights.
Not all influencers are leaders. And for the vast majority of them, I don’t think we’re asking them to be. But what happens when social media influencers—a cool ~10 billion dollar industry—are viewed as leaders; their ideas, they’re theories, and of course their endorsements are taken literally— real time, attention and money is spent following their proposed direction. Where is the line? And when do real leaders step back in?
