Patti Smith once wrote, “we go through life, we shed our skins, we become ourselves.” The shedding process isn’t always the result of a soft pink loofah with warm lavender soap. Sometimes it’s a slow, arduous, somewhat abrasive affair; more like a rattlesnake shedding its skin on a hot dessert afternoon. But from it comes growth. And growth creates more honest space for connection.
